We have monthly in-services and ongoing trainings for our staff
We have a very vibrant community of residents in both our assisted living and memory care. Residents especially look forward to mealtime here at Legacy House of Avondale. Our chef is amazing and really takes great pride in the meals he prepares for our residents. Mealtime is the highlight of the day.
There are countless activities going on. Anything from board games, card games, Bingo, happy hours, entertainment, outings to museums, dining, shopping. There is also a movie theatre on site, an exercise room, bistro, large multipurpose room, library, and several card/craft rooms.
Estrella Community College, parks, and shopping are all within a couple blocks.
We offer a 10 mile radius for transportation.
Our residents enjoy 3 meals/day. There are many options. As I mentioned above, our chef is the best around. Come try it for yourself. We'd love to have you over for lunch.
Each of our residents are given a pendant that they can use whenever they need to. It has GPS capabilities as well as being water resistant.
Through phone, email, or personal appointments. Communication is of utmost importance to us. For example, we never want a resident change of condition to be a surprise to a family member. Ideally, it is something we should be communicating together about over time.
That is a hard question to answer as staffing ratios may flex depending on the needs of our residents. Of course, Legacy House of Avondale is in compliance with Arizona state regulations. Most often, our company standard exceeds that of the state requirements.
Residents can have pets. It is a $25/month pet fee. There is a center enclosed courtyard they can enjoy.

In our memory care, also called The Cottage, we have a 1: 6 caregiver ratio.
At Legacy House of Avondale, we have a 42-unit memory care unit, also called The Cottage. The Cottage is a secure environment with specially-trained caregivers who provide care for those with Alzheimer's disease or other types of memory loss.
Our nurse assesses the residents every 3-6 months or more if needed.
