FAQ About Manor Lake Assisted Living & Memory Care
Average age is approximately 89, they are extremely enmeshed within out Independent Living. They love to go out to dinner, see shows play cards and trivia.
The programming is consistently changing to reflect the needs and interests of our current residents. We do everything from offering a wood working class, jewelry making, bridge, crazy 8s, pop culture trivia, book clubs, casino outings, scenic drives, reminiscing, puzzles and sensory opportunities.
We are next to natural grocers, restaurants such as mad greens, perkins and five guys. We are directly across the street from Dave and Busters that has an IMAX theater. The light rail is also directly across the street offering an accessible transportation opportunity around Denver.
We have the opportunity to have free transportation of a 12 mile radius for residents that do not require assistance in their appointments. For those that do require a caregiver to take them into their appointment and support them physically or mentally, we have private caregivers that can transport and assist.
Our assisted living dining programming is designed for a relaxing and simplified experience. We offer multiple diets that reach various nutritional needs such as carb controlled, limited sugar/salt, as well as various texture styles. Taste and presentation is the main focus to reduce at risk nutrition and increase healthy weight gain. We offer a 3 course meal, beginning with soup, salad and bread, a main dish and a dessert. Residents order from a server and off of a menu. If there is nothing that seems appetizing on the menu, we have a “always available” menu to offer.
The type of food that you would expect (as a dinner experience):
-Honey and Garlic Salmon served with wild rice and asparagus
-Chicken Diane serviced with garlic mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli
-Ranch Cubed Steak served with red potatoes and buttered beets
Desserts offered: Boston Cream Cake, Pecan Pie ala mode, and Reduced Sugar Chiffon Cheesecake
Every resident in our assisted living is given a pendant that is GPS specific to their location within the community. When they push their button a caregiver will arrive withing 3 minutes. This is the same protocol for their pull cords located in their apartments. We perform 2 hour checks during the day, evening and night to ensure timely assistance.
We perform care conferences the first 30 days after move in and then again every 90 days or change in condition. We also are available via oncall on weekends and nights if there is a concern during not “normal” hours.
1-10 during day and evening and then it changes to 1-20 during the night
We have a park located in the front of the community that residents are welcome to walk through. We also have a patch of grass designated for dogs right outside of the assisted living entrance. Dogs and cats are welcome to roam the community when attached to a leash (and supervised).
We do state regulated monthly in service training as well as Brookdale designated training. Those range from HIPAA, resident rights, resident engagement expectations and safety.
We are able to assist the family in providing a private caregiver that is available to redirect, stimulate and care for the resident.
