Specially trained caregivers in memory care units use mainstream medical care in combination with holistic interventions, such as herbal teas, spa baths, massages, and aromatherapy. Highgate offers couples apartments. Specialized care plans accommodate needs of both partners, even if they require different levels of care. The spacious dining room serves three daily meals prepared from scratch, and residents choose from various menu items at each meal. Daily activities include discussions of current events, exercise classes, games, movies, and sports. Residents can also participate in scheduled community outings and parties or concerts. Landscaped grounds with an enclosed courtyard are ideal for gardening or relaxing outdoors.
