We are a new community. Our residents tend to enjoy physical, cultural, social and spiritual activities. In addition, excursions to nearby Heritage Conservancy sites, farms, community playhouses, parks and lakes are of great interest to our incoming residents. Our residents are retired teachers, CEOs, healthcare professionals, philanthropists, community volunteers, and more, each with a valued story that enhances the vibrancy of our community!
While we create a calendar to engage our residents on a daily basis, we also seek input from them in the development of our programs & activities offerings. Residents can enjoy card games & shuffleboard in our game room, fitness activities in our fitness center & interior courtyards, Chef's Academy with our Culinary Services Director in our Vibrant Life Activity Room, cultural discussions on movies viewed in our Theater, special holiday celebrations including those that honor our residents as individuals & groups, activities that support a resident-led charitable cause, & activity offerings with the Executive Director (ex. "Move, Munch & Mingle with the ED").

Scheduled local transportation for medical appointments, shopping excursions and field trips. Our bus can transport 14 residents including space for 2 wheelchairs.
Elevate® is our innovative program that transforms the dining experience into a culinary celebration. Exhibition cooking, immersive dining, and resident-inspired menus bring community members together to enjoy each other’s company and a healthy, made-from-scratch meal in our restaurant-style dining areas.
All-day dining, from 7:00am through 7:00pm, is available in our Grove Dining Hall. Grab & Go snacks and beverages are available in our Blue Heron Bistro. Or, residents can enjoy a glass of wine in our Edgewater Bar prior to dinner.
We abide by all CDC & local guidelines to manage the risk of COVID-19 exposure. Our entrance is managed by our Concierge team. All visitors must check-in at the front desk and abide by COVID-19 protocols. Residents receive an emergency pendant & all apartments are equipped with an emergency call system. First Aid kits, sprinklers, fire alarms, & fire extinguishers are located throughout the community. All team members are trained on fire & emergency safety protocols. We follow our community-wide emergency operations plan. As a licensed assisted living & memory care community, nurses, nursing assistants and medication technicians are available 24/7. All new residents are tested for the Coronavirus prior to & on the day of move-in. AEDs are available in the community. Key personnel are certified in Adult AED, CPR & Standard First Aid. All team members wear masks, maintain safe social distancing when not providing direct care services, & clean between every service & appointment.
We utilize all forms of communication with our residents' families, from phone calls, in-person meetings, text messages, emails and mail via the USPS. Supplementary to formal modes of communication for individual resident updates, we share community updates on our website and social media pages, in addition to a community newsletter.
Our community abides by the 55 Pa. Code Chapter 2800 of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the individual care plans of our residents to develop our staffing requirements on any given shift. Depending on the individual care plans, the PA regulation relative to staffing ratios may be inadequate which is why we insure our staff-to-resident ratios meet the needs of our residents' individual care plans.
Heartis Yardley is a pet-friendly community. We have indoor courtyards and walking paths. In addition, Yardley and Lower Makefield Township has connecting walking paths including one our residents may join at the entrance of our community. The Executive Director volunteers with animal rescue organizations and welcomes visits with our furry residents. Treats will always be on-hand!
All team members receiving training on how to compassionately support the day-to-day needs of residents, including those with memory impairments while also finding ways to engage with them. Direct care staff members, by regulation, receive at least 16 hours of annual training related to their specific job duties. In addition, administrative staff, direct care staff persons, ancillary staff persons, substitute personnel and volunteers receive at least 4 hours of dementia-specific training within 30 days of hire and at least 2 hours of dementia-specific training annually thereafter.
Our Generations Memory Care residents and programs reside in a secured neighborhood, with a magnetically-secured entrance accessed from our assisted living area by authorized personnel. Guests are escorted into our Generations Neighborhood. Our courtyard is secured as well. Residents identified as an elopement risk receive a wander-guard device as well.
