We had to include pet-friendly Atria Forest Hills in our list of Long Island's top 10 assisted living facilities for its resort-like amenities that make it a luxurious and entertaining setting for seniors. Located in Flushing, directly across from Willow Lake, the residence contains a plush movie theater with a large screen and popcorn machine, a well-equipped fitness center and a cheerful bistro where residents can enjoy breakfast with fresh fruits and steaming coffee. Seniors with an affinity for art and music can peruse the on-site art gallery and attend concerts by visiting musicians, and those with pets can spend relaxing afternoons on the shady outdoor terrace with their furry friends.
