FAQ About Manor Lake Assisted Living & Memory Care
Our activities program targets the four areas of wellbeing, physical, mental, social, and spiritual.
Our daily physical exercises include yoga, chair exercise, jazzercise, bowling, corn hole, mini-golf and walks on the grounds.
We do mental exercises in the form of word games, puzzles, reading the newspaper, and book clubs.
Socially we foster an environment of caring and compassion, in all our activities socialization is key. Residents play Bingo, share life stories, dine together, engage in group discussions, and have the opportunity to contact and involve family and loved ones virtually and in person.
For spiritual care we read morning devotionals, invite pastors to minister, and enjoy and sing gospel music.
All our food is home cooked and dietician approved! Our cooks prepare what our residents love to eat and menus are adjusted to make good on that promise.
Unique to our community is that all buildings are secured with key code entry and exit. Not only does this prevent unnecessary visitors from entering Beehive, but residents who are prone to wandering will be safely kept inside.
Further we provide all residents with a pendant help button that can be used in emergency fall situations, or when a resident just wants a glass of water.
Video monitoring and surveillance is installed inside all common areas of the community.
Communication with families is where Beehive excels. Aside from our facebook page, monthly newsletter, and infrequent emails, families receive regular communication from staff via text and phone call. We communicate the good and the bad to keep you informed, help you participate, and stay connected to your loved one.
On a monthly basis we conduct in-service trainings and invite experts to teach on topics ranging from fall prevention, to dementia care, to fire safety, etc.
Once per week we also have staff complete an online Relias training (these trainings are specific to caregivers and teach best practices for everything from assisting a resident with bathing, to infection control).
