FAQ About Manor Lake Assisted Living & Memory Care
We have an extremely active group of residents at Wood Glen Court. I would say that our residents are more active than what you normally find in assisted living, making our community an easy transition from home or Independent Living. Our residents love our weekly Happy Hour, Wii bowling and outings to ball games and community events.
We have a full time Program Director as well as a Program Assistant that coordinate all of our activities and outings here at Wood Glen Court. We offer a huge variety of activities including exercise, social hour, entertainment, games, educational presentations, jewelry making and arts and crafts and much more. We also offer weekly outings to restaurants, museums, ball games, movies and community events.
There are a variety of restaurants and shops within a couple blocks of our community.
We offer transportation to Doctor's appointments within a 10 mile radius of our community at no charge. We also take weekly shopping trips to grocery stores, Target and the Dollar Store.
Our Director of Dining Services, Lisa, has been here with us since the community opened 4 years ago. Our menu offers a large variety of options and Lisa loves showcasing resident's favorite recipes as well.
We have security cameras throughout the community and all exterior doors remain locked so that all guests must sign in at our front desk. All visitors to our community are required to sign in electronically and wear a "Visitor" name badge.
We have several ways of keeping our families well-informed not only with updates on their loved one, but also what is going on here at the community. One of the ways that we keep families informed is through our Monthly "Family Night". We also share our monthly newsletter with families, keeping them current with any news, staff changes, events and activities going on in the community and much more.
Our industry standard ratios and prompt response time to resident requests provide for resident and family peace of mind. We have three nurses on staff (two RNs and one LVN) who monitor resident conditions and inform families and physicians as appropriate of changes in health conditions.
We accept both cats and dogs under 25 lbs. Our community offers extensive outdoor areas including two large enclosed courtyards, one open courtyard, and plenty of green space surrounds the community around the back and sides of the building. Many of our pet parents enjoy walking the perimeter of the community with their pet and enjoying the view of the mature trees surrounding our community.
Monthly staff meetings cover important topics such as: Reporting of abuse and neglect, confidentiality of resident information, universal precautions, conditions about which they should notify the facility manager, resident’s rights, and emergency and evacuation procedures.
Our staff get to know our residents on a personal level and offer redirection to residents with memory impairment as needed.
