FAQ About Manor Lake Assisted Living & Memory Care
Age range 70 - 98; Residents receive assistance with activities of daily living, meals, life enrichment, transportation and medical services. Residents enjoy a plethora of activities including music, outdoor walks, wildlife gazing, painting, model train building, games, puzzling, movies and books.
Every day we provide a diverse program that addresses the physical, cognitive, social and emotional needs of our residents. To foster physical health we offer a different physical outlet each day: walking, yoga, dancing, etc. Painting, themed crafts and art projects give residents a creative way to express themselves and relax. We play Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy and other brain puzzles to have fun and keep minds sharp. Music also plays a large role in our community. In addition to hearing a variety of rotating performers, music therapy groups are incorporated on a weekly basis. To keep things unique and interesting we've worked on projects that include but are certainly not limited to: fairy gardens, model trains, cookie baking, karaoke, and more!
While we have a lot to do within the building we also enjoy the occasional outing to the tea house, museum and movies! It's vital that our residents stay engaged and involved. It makes for a true life in harmony!
A scenic walking path is accessible from the community. The Blue Ridge Parkway is a short drive away. Shopping and restaurants are also nearby within a short drive.
Free scheduled transportation is offered to medical appointments and scheduled outings.
The Dietary Department consist of hard working,dedicated people,that are caregivers at heart. We treat our residents like family. The menu is a variety of made from scratch, good old southern comfort foods. From Fried Chicken and Mac & Cheese, to Baked Fresh Fish,to Hearty Beef Stew. Southern Pecan Pie, to Coconut Cake,to a good old homemade Chocolate Chip Cookie. Guaranteed to please your taste buds, as well as your heart.
Staff receive on-going dementia training, infectious control training and emergency preparedness training. Resident Rights is an annual training. Additionally, staff will receive specific training in other areas such as activities of daily living.
